We also expect our members to demonstrate an equal amount of respect for copyright and intellectual rights of others. Megashot has adopted the following general policy toward copyright and intellectual property infringement in accordance with general U.S. intellectual property laws and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/legislation/dmca.pdf).

If you don’t know what Copyright is, consider this:

Any photographs anyone has taken, any movie anyone has made, any drawing or painting someone created, any article, tutorial or a book someone written, these are all that person’s copyrighted materials and the right of use belongs only to them.

If you don’t know what Copyright infringement is, consider this:

• a. If you place a photo, a drawing, painting or any creative work of someone else online, without their permission, you have violated their copyright.
• b. If you turn someone else’s Photograph into a painting, making digital art production of someone else’s photograph, alter and make derivative work without their permission, you have violated their copyright.
• c. If you have uploaded someone else’s image to your account without proper credit, so that others get the impression that the image was created by you, you have violated their copyright.

If you believe that your work has been copied and posted on our site in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, you should provide our Copyright Agent with a written notice that sets forth the infringement details. To be effective, the notice must contain the following information:

• 1. a description of the copyrighted work that you believe has been infringed;
• 2. a description of the material that you claim is infringing the copyrighted work identified in #1, and a detailed description of where it is located on our web site.
• 3. your address, telephone number, and email address;
• 4. a written statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
• 5. a statement by you, made under penalty of perjury, that the above information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf; and
• 6. an electronic or physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest.
